Why short stroked?

Short stroking is a process where 1 or more teeth are removed from the sector gear to allow more time for piston to cycle.

This is required to achieve firing speed faster than around 26 rounds per second, otherwise you will be faced with premature engagement (PME) which will result in catastrophic damage to your gears and / or piston.

I need the "BRRRRT"!

With this gear set you can easily achieve up to 35 rounds per second when combined with a high speed brushless motor. No need for any advanced tuning parts or expertise - drop these in like any other gear set, shim it and go fast.

What about power output?

Short stroking comes at an expense of reduced total piston travel which reduces the output power of your replica by around 10-20%. To compensate, you will need to get a stronger spring to compensate for power loss as well as to help the piston cycle faster which helps achieve the high fire rate.

You can reasonably achieve up to 1.5J power output without much trouble but don't expect using these in any DMR setup with anything higher than that.
